Reconstruction of the in 2009 by a storm demolished Hornstaad House at the Lake Dwelling Unteruhldingen
Construction of a „new” pile dwelling
The oldest house at Lake Constance so far, the „Hornstaadhaus“ is presently – between July and September 2011 – rebuilt again as a scientific reconstruction at the Museum in Unteruhldingen. The previous structure located in the same place in the museum village, had fallen victim to a storm in May 2009 and caused the structure to collapse. The deterioration of this building has been meticulously documented and can now be used as a basis for scientific analysis of the conditions at the sites of discovery.
